Objective:
- The WordPress SOP outlines the standardized process for uploading articles and press releases, covering SEO setup, formatting, image specs, keyword tagging, backlinking, and publishing checks. It also includes content verification steps, especially for secondary research articles, and mandates sharing the published link with the team. Press releases are published as-is, while ensuring consistency in design, metadata, and formatting.

Please ensure to follow the following steps while uploading articles or press releases on WordPress
- Login to WordPress
- Posts - Add New Post
- Put in the SEO title, and the Main title on the top. Also, ensure to put in Meta Description below the SEO title. Please input FOCUS KEYWORDS. The first alphabet of the title should be capital.
- Add the main content in the article.
- The subheadings of the article will be HEADING 3.
- If there is any ABOUT (COMPANY), the name of the company will be HEADING 4, and the paragraph about the company will be HEADING 6, with Format - Font Wgt - Normal
- Select the categories - Media / Marketing / Technology / Blog / Interviews and Guest Posts according to the press release.
- Ensure to add tags (keywords) - maximum 3 tags
- Make sure the meta description is under 20 words
- SEO Title will be heading of the article
- Please make sure that the feature image size is constant - 645px × 328px
- Upload the feature image in JPEG/PNG format only.
- Make sure while selecting image - add SEO tags with commas
- For any quotes that are to be uploaded in blog or interview posts, please use width 1000px and Height Auto as the image size
- Change the text color to BLACK every time
- If there are any linked words, make sure it will be in Orange color, with ‘Open Link In New Tab’ selected
- Do not use underscores ( _ ) or blank spaces in filenames.
- Use all lowercase letters (no uppercase) in the URL.
- Use dashes (-) between words — for example: digital-marketing-trends-2025.
- For each blog post, include FAQ Schema Markup
- Click on Preview, and check if the article is good to go
- Publish
Articles
For articles with secondary research:
- Put the article title on Google - research if other publications have published the article. Verify if it is a press release or not.
- Collate information for a comprehensive article in case if its not a press release
- Verify all the information included in case of AI used and the meaning and facts shouldn’t change. Keep the quotes said by people as it is
- Check for the cover image - if other people have used the image, please use the same image.
- If the cover image is to be made on Canva, feel free to reach out to use Canva and create it as the template is ready.
- SEO keywords are to be added to the featured image, as well as to the images added in the article.
- Backlinks are important for the article. Please look for articles related to the keywords or the topic.
- All backlinks should be colored ORANGE. The Read More option in the article is to be in BOLD AND CENTRE ALIGNED.
- For QUOTES, if the quotes are taken only from one article, then due credit needs to be given to the publication - As reported by (Publication with backlink to the page)
- If the quotes are published by multiple publications, then there is no need to give credits. Similarly for cover images.
- Keywords need to be put in the article, above the featured image option.
- Digital Mandate - we cover domestic as well as global mandates
- Always add logo while making creatives in Canva (Appointments, promotions, exit, digital mandates, partnership)
- Read mails properly - check if it needs to be published or it is embargoed
- News scouting - and share press releases on Whatsapp group
For Press Releases
- We cover press releases related to media, advertising, technology, campaigns, digital mandates, logo change , programmatic, ad formats, performance marketing, industry reports, adtech, martech, OTT, DOOH, OOH globally and domestically.
- Do not cover entertainment, gymwear, celebrity brand ambassadors or related
- Any press release received will be PUT UP AS IT IS. If there is more than 1 image then check how can you use it in the article and cover image
- The rest of the process remains the same for keywords, cover image etc.
- The average time taken should not be more than 30-45 minutes
- If there are articles shared then verify if it's a press release.
- After every article is published, the link will be shared on the Content Group
