Objective:
Use Canva via the AdScholars team account to create and edit social media and website designs using pre-set templates for AI quotes, news, appointments, memes, and interviews. Stick to platform-specific sizes, follow the Brand Bible for consistency, and organize assets, edits, and exports efficiently for Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and the AdTech Today website.

Access & Workspace Setup
- Open Canva in your browser
- log in to canva.account@adscholars.com
- Download Canva software (Optional)
- Ensure you’re in the correct team workspace (if using Canva Teams).
- Navigate to Folders to access categorized design templates.

How to Use
- Go to Projects > Folders or use the Search bar.
- Open the template.
- Click “Use this template” or “Make a copy” to start editing.
- Rename your design based on content type and date (e.g., "AI Quote – June 25").
Designing for Social Media (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
Use format-appropriate templates:
- Instagram: 1080×1350 (Portrait), 1080×1920 (Stories/Reels)
- LinkedIn: 1080×1350 (Post), 1080×1350 (Carousel), 1920×1080 (Cover or thumbnail)
- YouTube: 1920×1080 (Thumbnail)
Content Types
- Carousels: Use multipage templates, keep headlines bold and readable.
- Video Thumbnails: Use consistent brand fonts/colors, and highlight keywords.
- Static Posts: Keep text minimal, visual high-impact.
- Reels: Add title overlays, logo, subtitles (if needed).

Guidelines
- Use templates sized for 1200×675 px (or your preferred web ratio).
- Include minimal text, the AdTech Today logo, and a headline (if needed).
- Always test readability at small thumbnail sizes.
Uploading & Asset Management
Go to Uploads tab to upload
- Interviewee photos
- Brand logos (partner brands if co-publishing)
- Screenshots or external visuals
Organize uploads using folders (e.g., “June Assets”, “Appointment Photos”).
Editing Tips
- Text: Use brand fonts, maintain visual hierarchy.
- Images: Use frames, filters, or transparency for consistent design.
- Elements: Use brand-aligned shapes, icons from Canva’s library.
- Animations: Only for Stories or Reels (avoid for static graphics).
- Use Magic Resize for repurposing content across platforms.
Saving & Exporting
- Click Share > Download.
- File types:
- PNG (static social post)
- JPG (website thumbnails)
- MP4 (video/Reels)
- For carousels: select PDF Standard or download page-wise as PNGs.
Collaboration
- Tag teammates for review via Share > Comment.
- Lock sections on templates (for roles with limited edit access).
- Store finished designs in the relevant Project Folder.
Best Practices
- Preview designs before export (especially text legibility).
- Maintain consistent spacing and alignment.
- Stick to approved color and font combinations.
- Avoid clutter—less is more, especially for quote or meme formats.
