Objective:
- This SOP outlines core WordPress updates, plugin and theme management, content updates, speed and performance checks, security scans, database cleanup, server monitoring, uptime tracking, and regular backups to ensure a stable, secure, and high-performing website.

- Contact Form 7 – For creating and managing forms.
- Google PageSpeed Insights – For speed and performance testing.
- 10Web Booster – For speed optimization (caching, minification, performance boost).
- Sucuri SiteCheck – For malware scanning and security monitoring.
- drlinkcheck.com – For broken link checking.
- UptimeRobot – For uptime monitoring.
- UpdraftPlus – For website backups.

Core Updates
- Update the WordPress core to the latest stable version as released.
- Perform updates from the admin dashboard (or manually if needed).
- Test the website thoroughly after the update to ensure no issues or conflicts.
- Rollback if any major compatibility issues are detected.
Plugins & Themes Updates
- Update all active plugins and themes from the backend once a week.
- Check compatibility of each plugin/theme with the WordPress version after updating.
- Verify that site functionality (forms, sliders, interactive elements) works as expected.
- Disable or remove unused/outdated plugins or themes.
Content Management
- Add or update blog posts, case studies, or other content with basic SEO best practices (meta tags, headings, internal links).
Speed & Performance Optimization
- Run speed tests weekly using Google PageSpeed Insights and 10web Booster tool.
- Optimize images, enable caching, and minify CSS/JS as required.
- Apply server-side optimizations if needed (e.g. compression, lazy loading).
- Prepare a weekly performance report and save it to the Google Drive folder.
Security Check
- Scan the website for malware using Sucuri SiteCheck.
- Check server-side security on GoDaddy and Bluehost backend panels.
- Verify file permissions and protect wp-config.php and .htaccess files.
Database Cleanup
- Remove spam, trashed posts.
- Perform cleanup from the backend.
- Optimize database tables if required (via phpMyAdmin).
Hosting/Server Check
- Monitor disk space usage, CPU load, and RAM consumption on GoDaddy and Bluehost servers.
- Perform resource checks weekly.
Uptime Monitoring
- Use UptimeRobot tool to check website uptime monitoring
- Ensure the uptime monitor is active and alerts are set.
Backup
- Take full backups (files + database) weekly using UpdraftPlus plugin.
- Save backups in local and server storage.
